A further volume in Neil Norman's trek through the annals of Science Fiction film and TV music. There were several surprises this time when he caught spot on the tracks from 'Blade Runner' (stereo beats running from alternating speakers), 'Lost In Space' and 'The Invaders'.

This album on vinyl was originally released in 1984 at a time when original tracks were released and is now on CD. Since then there have been both copies and original track releases and yet Neil Norman's tracks haven't really deviated from the sounds I expect to hear. Those that do, like 'The Prisoner' and 'UFO' have been more to finding an equivalent than to do a variation.

'The Thing' track, I should point out, is from the original film than the John Carpenter version. He even goes for 'Vena's Dance' theme from the original first 'Star Trek' episode. I'm getting more impressed as I go along with the CDs. Given the preference, I'd probably prefer the original tracks but when not, these make a pleasant exception.
